Did you know that all SDS staff are DBS checked?

Did you know that all SDS staff are DBS checked?

What is the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check?

The Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) is a criminal record check on an individual and contains details of any convictions or conditions that are considered to be unspent under the terms of the Rehabilitation Of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

Why is it important?

Any customer whose business operates within a safe guarding or security-sensitive environment (including schools, care-homes and Government facilities), need to know that any on-site visitors conform to the legal requirements for safe guarding.

How SDS uses the Disclosure and Barring Service check to improve Customer Service

All SDS personnel that make site visits (such as our field engineers and sales team) have been through the Disclosure and Barring Service check process. This offers a number of advantages to customers:

  • No time consuming form filling for a non-DBS checked visitor (SDS staff credentials can be sent to businesses in advance of a visit).
  • No need for SDS personnel to be accompanied once on site, avoiding a staff member being taken away from their duties.
  • Customer confidence that SDS personnel are professional and trustworthy in safeguarding or security sensitive environments

All of these benefits help SDS develop a deep and trusting relationship with our customers.
