The situation

A E Stoodley & Son, an independent, family owned, funeral directors have been trading in Crewkerne since 1926. We needed a machine that had excellent print quality, duplex printing and a finishing unit that would cope with card. Scanning with our old machine was a seriously tedious process. I used to have to unplug my laser printer, plug in my old scanner, then unplug and re-plug everything back in, in reverse…  all this involved scrabbling around under a desk!

The SDS solution

My initial discussions with SDS went very well. They listened to my needs and suggested I visit their premises in Edington.  Our new scanning, printing and copying facilities have significantly improved our systems. We can now produce business leaflets and brochures of a high standard in-house. We can even print bespoke ‘order of service’ sheets in about 3 minutes, meaning a family can have a proof while they wait. This type of efficiency provides an excellent service for our families!

The long-term benefits

The new machine is fantastic! I can scan in photos in seconds and hand them straight back to a family. This is vital when dealing with very precious or old photos. Our machine’s integral finishing unit gives us the facility to print and fold documents at four times the speed of our old machine.
