Eastleigh Care Homes now have a reliable, controllable solution to their printing needs thanks to SDS.

The situation

Eastleigh Care Homes had multifunctioning printing devices at both of their sites, but their existing provider had issues with providing support in a timely manner. The machines were the only way to fax medical prescription and other important documents, so when the machines were out of action, it became very frustrating and counterproductive for the hard working staff.

The SDS solution

Eastleigh Care Homes were recommended to SDS by their IT provider and Kayleigh Kelland (Eastleigh’s Group Finance Director), explains the benefits: “The new Konica Minolta machines are very reliable, and combined with very fast service levels from SDS, they have been perfect for our needs. The fax function is excellent. A list of main contact numbers can be stored in the machine and used easily with one press of a button. We’ve also started to use the scan to email function a lot more, as this system is just as easy to operate.”

The long-term benefits

The owners of Eastleigh Care Homes wanted to monitor and limit the amount of printing by staff. This is easily achieved using a built in, free-of-charge, Konica Minolta system called          Account Track. Before the copier is used, a unique pin number must be entered, meaning that only certain staff members can access the features of the machine.
